For several weeks she was sheltering in fear like most of the population of Kiev under bombardment. She gave very moving testimony to our zoom webinars about this experiment which was shocking to us and harrowing to her. She is a consummate intellectual, a philosopher, and expert in French existentialist philosophy and phenomenology such as the work of Levinas. She holds a position at the National Institute of Philosophy in Kiev part of the Ukrainian academy of sciences, whose work has been put on hold for the duration of the war. She recently had to flee to Austria where she is now living in temporary exile along with 4 million other Ukrainians.

Spoke very well at our Academic meeting in June 2022 about the Scottish government’s ecological plans for the future after independence from Westminster.
